Spade Terminals

These Hillsdale Terminals Spade Terminals simply slide around a stud and are secured with a nut to hold them in place and conduct electricity. They are connected to any wire of the correct gauge by slipping the exposed end of the wire into the end of the insulation, and crimping it in place so that the wire contacts the metal inside. An additional crimp can also be made to the end of the insulation creating an extra point of contact between the wire insulation and terminal insulation creating a stronger hold.

What Are Spade Terminals?

A Spade Terminal, also known as fork terminal or spade connector, is a type of electrical connector that is commonly used to terminate or connect wires to a screw or stud terminal. It is called a "spade" terminal because it is shaped like a flat spade or fork with two tines that slide onto a screw or stud. Spade terminals are available in various sizes and can be crimped onto the end of a wire or cable. They typically have a vinyl or nylon insulation sleeve that covers the crimped-on end of the wire, providing protection against electrical shock, short circuits, and other hazards.

Spade terminals are commonly used in automotive and marine applications, as well as in industrial and commercial settings. They are ideal for applications where wires need to be quickly and easily connected or disconnected, as the spade-shaped connector can be easily slid on and off a screw or stud terminal.
